The Price is Right - 6/6/12 Episode

Well, this happened on The Price is Right today:

Henry may be a world-class prankster; or maybe he just needs a new dentist. Regardless, this was an epic performance on so many levels. Bravo.

Henry couldn't add to his haul of a fireplace and $500, however, as he misfired on "Squeeze Play" for two motor scooters. At the wheel, Henry lost his tooth again, and then couldn't match a $1 spin that came before him.

Regardless, add Henry to the list of legendary The Price is Right contestants.

The odyssey of Daisy
Today was quite a day for old people on The Price is Right. Let's take a look at Daisy's day on the show.

One of the "first four" contestants to come down, she was stuck on bidders' row through the first half of the show. Here's one reason why: for this set of luggage...

...Daisy bid...

In the next round, though, Daisy got it together with a $1,500 bid on a set of jewelry that was worth $1,505. When she got up on stage, Drew Carey commented, "You went from a disaster bid of $8,000 to being off by $5."

The Price is Right - 5/1/12 Episode

Well, this happened today:

I would say that people should be made to take a basic competency test before being a contestant on The Price is Right, but then we wouldn't have classic moments like this.

Drew Carey was giving everybody the business today, which I really enjoyed. The last week and a half has been Drew's best stretch as a host since I started re-watching the show: engaging contestants, making fun of them where applicable, building the drama at the right times. He's been on top of his game.

And here he is getting a little dig at our old friend Daniel Goddard:

Top model: Daniel
They really put Daniel over on us today; he modeled most of the prizes up for bids, and even helped out in a few pricing games:

Daniel says, "Sorry - you lose."

Daniel says, "You lose again!"

The fact that Daniel's high level of involvement came right as sweeps month is kicking off is just a coincidence, I'm sure.

The Price is Right - 4/11/12 Episode

Few things on The Price is Right get the studio crowd and viewers at home going more than a really old contestant.

Today's instant fan favorite was Leela, who won on her first go on bidders' row.

The crowd went bananas, chanting Leela's name and everything:

And what does every old person who can't walk up a flight of stairs without assistance need?

A new pickup truck! Of course!

Leela could hardly believe it...

In a cruel twist of fate, however, poor Leela got one of The Price is Right's most difficult games:

She did not win. Nor did she win on the wheel, despite a helping hand from Drew Carey:

In the Twitter-verse, most fans simply adored Leela in her quest for glory. Not everyone, though:

@MissAudreySue There is no way this million year old lady can drive this ford f150 on the price is right

@IceburrgSlim Why do they put old people on The Price Is Right? What they gonna do with a brand new car, go to the grocery store?

Cruel bounce of the day
With help from Publishers' Clearing House, Andrea had a chance to win $40,000 with her final Plinko chip ($20,000 today plus the $20,000 rolled over from yesterday). It was looking good, but...

So, tomorrow the big prize is $60,000. This is lining up for someone to win $80,000 on Friday, isn't it? Not that I'm suggesting it's fixed.
