The Price is Right - 4/9/12 Episode

THEY ARE PLAYING PLINKO EVERYDAY THIS WEEK ON THE PRICE IS RIGHT!!!

Drew Carey gave us the big news today, right before Summer dropped her third and final chip. Publishers' Clearing House is going to double the $10,000 slot everyday this week. And if tomorrow's Plinko contestant doesn't get it, it rolls over to the next day, and so on. So, Friday's Plinko player could win $80,000.

But not $100,000, as here's what Summer did with her $20,000 chance:

Note the sharp turn the chip makes to get to the $20,000 slot. Not that I'm suggesting it was rigged for the day of this big announcement.

Summer got her chance to play Plinko buy winning a pair of mountain bikes. Here's what Donna bid for - again, not one, but TWO (2) - mountain bikes:

Massive pricing game FAIL

It got only worse for Donna from there.

She got up on stage on the next round of bids, and had a chance to win a chair, PS3 with 10 games included (presumably for the grandkids) and 60-inch HDTV.

What followed was the worst performance on The Clock Game I've ever seen. WARNING: This is painful.

Donna, it's not $550.

Donna's performance was viciously criticized by many (myself included) on Twitter:

@teach921 Nothing worse than getting on The Price is Right and not knowing how to play the game! #gameshowfailure

@Dr_Trav Some people get on the Price Is Right and make me mad....that was a waste of a turn!

@NGPhilpot I just got SO angry at what just happened on The Clock Game on #TPIR! I mean like really angry!

@Olivialee1023 For those of you watching the price is right... Donna is a moron

@jessetrujilloo I don't get how some people are SO BAD at the price is right "550. lower. 540 higher. 550. lower. 540. higher" dumbass

@brandied_plum I think the clock game is to The Price is Right what the silver monkey was to Legends of the Hidden Temple.

@btowne Some people on the Price is Right are sooooo dumb

@mudhouse_gypsy I just watched an old lady fail miserably at the clock game on The Price is Right.

@allyhellyer OLD PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE ON PRICE IS RIGHT. that's my rant for the day.

@zZEBRAz Lady on price is right was so dumb.

@TPiR_Files Oh dear... worst playing of the Clock Game on The Price is Right ever. #tpir

@RozieMonroe That lady on price is right was so dumb!!!!

@cressTV Watching that Donna character on the Price is Right just killed me.....really....I am dead......

@itzjlee that lady didnt belong up there on the price is right

@coryh64 Lady on Price is Right's clock game contributed to my losing faith in America's senior citizens. Poor effort.

@AmericanDream42 By far worst playing of the clock game on price is right ever. When you narrow it down to 5 numbers you dont add extra lmao

@rachsav5 This lady guessed the same answer 5 times on The Price Is Right #getofftheshow

@GH057ayame That lady who was just on The Price is Right is a complete moronnnn! She needs to take a seat and let someone else have a chance.

@heidimaebush Price is right. #Ohdonna

Although there is this in Donna's defense, from TPiR Files reader Daniel Kaproth:

@DanielKaproth @TPiR_Files To be fair, I'm not totally sure that woman knew where she was.

DIABEETUS!!!

Bidders' row FAIL

From left to right, here was the order of bidding for a ruby ring:

We have three fails in one round here: Whitney bidding $1 over as the second contestant, James bidding $4,500 (he's never watched the show, apparently), and Tracy going $101 over for some unknown reason. Tracy did manage to make it up on stage.

This was a tough day for James, the third contestant in the last four episodes to not make it to a pricing game after being one of the first four on bidders' row.

Here's a picture of James to make his eternal shame official, with the bonus of Amanda's very curious bid to boot:

Contestants going mental

Here's Robert, the eventual Showcase winner:

This after sprinting the length of the aisle, only to go back and do it all over again.

Would you trust Whitney with the power tools she just won? Judge for yourself:

And, finally, Rickie says "Hallelujah!" No, really, she's saying it right here:

All in all, a terrific episode to start the week.

Check back later tonight for our (almost Donna-free) The Price is Right "Tweets of the Day," and don't forget to follow us on Twitter: @TPiR_Files.
